Kids Protection Planning
The Abegaze Law Group is equipped to meet the unique planning needs of families with minor children. We work tirelessly to make sure that your kids are completely protected. Unlike traditional estate planning lawyers who focus solely on the needs of elderly people, we are attuned to the concerns of young parents. We counsel our clients on naming short and long-term guardians, choosing financial guardians, and working on matters related to blended families. We are also one of a limited number of firms that offer the Kids Protection Plan, which provides for the maximum protection of minor children.
What is a Kids Protection Plan?
A Kids Protection Plan is a set of instructions, legal documents and an ID card for your wallet, which are a necessity for parents with minor children.
If you are in an accident, your Kids Protection Plan will make sure your children are never taken into the custody of Child Protective Services and will ensure that your children are raised by people you choose.
Why do I need one?
If you are a parent with children at home under the age of 18, you need a Kids Protection Plan. If you are in an accident, when the police arrive at your house and find your kids home alone or with a babysitter, they are mandated to call Child Protective Services. Your children will be removed from your home unless you have taken the necessary precautions to ensure that this does not happen.
For their long-term care, your children would be at the mercy of an overcrowded state court system. A Court would make the decision about who should raise your kids. It's very likely that a Court would not choose the same person or people you would choose.
The Abegaze Law Group will provide you with the guidance needed to create a Kids Protection Plan for your family. We will walk you through the process of naming short term and long term guardians, choosing financial guardians, creating an emergency ID guard to keep in your wallet, and much more!
